Michael Maxwell began his career in law enforcement with the Kennesaw State University Police Department in 1994 prior to beginning his career with the Drug Enforcement Administration 1999. He has served in Miami, Florida HIDTA, Atlanta, Georgia Financial Investigation Team, Charleston, South Carolina Task Force Group Supervisor, Country Attache of The Hague Netherlands, and as a Staff Coordinator in the Special Operations Division Counter Narco Terrorism Operations Center. He was promoted to Section Chief of the Europe, Asia, Africa Section, and then served in the Special Projects Section where he supervised some of DEA’s most sensitive technologies and Data Science services. He was promoted in 2023 to the rank of Special Agent in Charge of the Office of Investigative Technology where he oversees DEA’s global technical investigative enterprise.
